Yahara House Pickleball Fundraiser for Mental Health is returning for a second year to McGaw Park on May 30th - this tournament raises funds for mental health services in our area and to increase awareness of mental health needs and resources. Special events for youth include a bracket for 10-15 year olds as well as a split age bracket for youth and an adult.
Yahara House is a nonprofit that uses a clubhouse format for supporting individuals dealing with mental illness. They focus on support, accessing services, housing and employment. As May is Mental Health Awareness Month, the date was chosen so they can raise awareness of the need for mental health support and services and reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues. The money raised from this tournament will go towards extending services to individuals who are uninsured and cannot access services currently.
