Pinot Noir : "The most romantic of wines, with so voluptuous a perfume, so sweet an edge, and so powerful a punch that, like falling in love, they make the blood run hot and the soul wax embarrassingly poetic.” —Joel Fleishman, Vanity Fair
Join us for our first festival celebrating the many shades and styles of Pinot.
From what modern DNA testing tells us, Pinot Noir is indeed one of the most ardent, hot-blooded, and gallivanting grapes there is - it is prolific in spreading across the world, through almost every country, and in mutating wherever it goes. Meunier, Gris, and Blanc all sport the Pinot family name. Pinot Noir clones have spread beyond its earlier 50 types, and its crossings have grown to include such far-flung varieties as Chardonnay, Melon, and Pinotage.
From Burgundy to Oregon, Tasmania to Champagne, we'll be featuring our favorite relatives of the Pinot family from around the world.
We'll also be featuring the largest number of producers ever to pour at a Waterford Orchard Pointe Festival!
We'll have Pam Waldon, proprietor and winemaker of Willful Wines, Tom Fitzpatrick, winegrower and Winemaker from Elevee Vineyards, Boyd Pearson of Lemelson Vineyards, and some of our favorite suppliers pouring over 50 wines.
Stay tuned for a full list of offerings, and even more producers pouring! But don't wait to get your tickets, this one will sell out!
