About the band:
The Grouvin Brothers play classic country, blues, and swing of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, as well as newer and original material that captures the spirit of the honky-tonk roadhouse era. With vintage instruments in hand, the Grouvin Brothers create a decidedly cool, low-fi sound that will have you dancing or at least snapping your fingers and tapping your feet.
The band features the blues-harp and vocals of Mr. Frankie Lee, the two-part vocal harmonies of Tim Haub (guitar) and Doug DeRosa (string bass), with the versatile Kenny Koeppler keeping the beat on drums. All are long-time members of the Madison music scene, having played with bands such as Honor Among Thieves, Paul Black & the Flip Kings, and John Chimes & the Natch'l Blues band, among others; each bringing his own voice and musical influences to create a lively mix of vintage American music.
