Isabella Begay is an Indigenous and Latina artist from Miami, Florida, whose work celebrates the beauty of heritage, storytelling, and connection. A self-taught artist with roots that run deep in community and culture, Isabella works across a variety of mediums—from watercolor and acrylic to clay and mixed media—to create pieces that speak to identity, resilience, and reciprocity with the land.
Drawing inspiration from her Indigenous heritage, Isabella’s art explores themes of community, love, and the enduring relationships between people and place. Each piece is a reflection of her journey—an offering that honors both ancestral wisdom and contemporary experience.
While largely self-taught, Isabella continued to deepen her artistic practice at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she earned a certificate in 3D and Sculptural Art. Now based in downtown Madison, she continues to experiment with new materials and techniques, bringing her stories to life through vibrant color, texture, and form. Her art invites viewers to pause, connect, and carry the stories forward—keeping them alive across time and generations.
