Deposit Operations Specialist

Position Summary
Supports the on-going processing and monitoring of the Bank’s balancing activities through various servicing functions related to the Bank’s core system, FISERV Premier and the products and services offered to clients.  Answers client calls and inquiries as needed.  Conducts and prepares various audits as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs daily maintenance on balance accounts within FISERV Premier
  • Reviews and analyzes daily deposit accounting system reports to balance and maintain the deposit portfolio
  • Processes Exception Items, monitors account reconciliations to ensure functions remain in balance
  • Researches, manages, and resolves debit card disputes, security alerts and fraud cases
  • Provides client support to all electronic banking functions: ACH, debit/ATM cards, ATM, online and mobile banking, bill payment, merchant and mobile capture, wire transfers and positive pay.
  • Processes customer applications relative to ACH, merchant and mobile capture, debit/ATM cards, online banking, eStatements, bill pay and positive pay
  • Processes wire transfers using FIRE, either initiating or verifying transactions
  • Conducts an audit on new and modified deposit accounts as well as file maintenance completed
  • Completes deposit related inquiries for internal and external requests such as verification of deposits, subpoenas and other deposit inquiries
  • Proactively monitors and follows up for internal controls and compliance
  • Scans and indexes deposit file documents and servicing related support including regular file retention and purging
  • Creating and updating reports through Business Analytics
  • Observes all security, privacy and compliance requirements related to the position
Leadership Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintain appropriate professional development and training as planned with the Assistant Vice President – Deposit Operations Manager
Required Knowledge and Skills include but are not limited to the following:
  • Associates Degree or other equivalent deposit operations work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of FISERV Premier and other software systems is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat Standard required
  • Good problem-solving skills using experience, knowledge and policies and procedures provided
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work while working independently
  • Must view oneself as part of an overall team; this includes supporting others within the department and throughout the Bank to achieve overall goals of the organization
  • Regard for important details to assure accuracy, detect errors and follow through on corrections and details
  • Able to adapt to different work situations, remain composed under pressure and in stressful situations
  • Knowledge of pertinent State and Federal guidelines, laws, and regulations
