SUMMARY:Waterford Wine & Spirits - Judgement of Fitchburg
DESCRIPTION:On July 4th\, 1976\, French judges were assembled to judge blind both French and American wines. This prestigious event was the idea and manifestation of London wineshop owner\, Steven Spurrier - who believed it would be a fun idea to pit American wines against French wines for America's Bicentennial.\n\nThe French judges walked into the event confident that the French wines would resoundingly defeat American wines in both the red and white categories. Little did they suspect that when they would judge the wines their true preference was what America\, not France\, had to offer. The Americans won both categories\, which led to quite an embarrassment.\n\nDuring this seminar\, Waterford will have three flights of three\, with the last wine of each flight to be tasted blind. The first flight will be a Burgundian Chardonnay compared to a Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. The second flight will be a Rhone Valley Blend from France compared to a California Rhone Blend. Their last flight will be a Bordeaux compared to a Napa Valley Cabernet. Your delightfully delicious task will be to guess the origin of each mystery wine at the end of each flight! Here's a unique opportunity to compare and contrast France vs. California.
