SUMMARY:Fitchburg Business Before Nine - Culture\, Creativity\, and Community Development
DESCRIPTION:Learn about demographics of 21st century in Wisconsin and what it means for culture\, creativity\, and community development with Matt Kures\, Community Development Specialist at UW Extension.\n\n\n\nWisconsin is facing a number of structural demographic and economic changes that will affect communities across the state. In particular\, the state's slow rate of population growth\, its shifting industry structure and an increasing share of residents approaching retirement age will influence labor availability\, job growth\, housing and transportation demand\, school enrollment and health care needs throughout Wisconsin. Despite these oncoming challenges\, there are opportunities for communities and regions to use their assets and comparative advantages to address these changes. This presentation will explore these issues in greater detail and explore options for community responses in the context of culture\, creativity\, placemaking and other community development strategies.\n\n\n\nBB9 is our monthly professional development/networking series. BB9 brings you the opportunity to network with other Chamber members and it provides you with valuable information to grow your business.\n\n\n\nIn addition to valuable face-to-face time\, we have a light breakfast buffet served.\n\n\n\nThis event is open to everyone\, free for chamber members and $25 for non members\; feel free to invite your colleagues\, preferred vendors and anyone you would like to introduce into your networking circle. BB9 takes place the first Tuesday of each month from 7:45am-9am at the Hawthorn Suites\, 5421 Caddis Bend\, Fitchburg.\n\n\n\nThank you to our BB9 Sponsors Park Bank and MG&E!
